David Cope is the author of The Train: “Howl” in Chicago (Multifarious Press, 2017) and The Invisible Keys: New and Selected Poems 1975-2017 (Ghost Pony Press, 2018). His poetry has been widely translated into Chinese, notably by Professor Zhang Ziqing in Houston Garden of Verses and Poetry Periodical (Beijing), and discussed extensively in Zhang’s A History of 20th Century American Poetry. Dr. Peter Feng also translated two of his poems for Poetry Sky. In 2019, Cope represented the U.S. at the Suining International Poetry Week and Chen Zi’ang Poetry Awards in Sichuan, with poems from this journey appearing in A Bridge Across the Pacific (Jabber Publications, 2020). His work “River Rouge” was featured in RESPECT: The Poetry of Detroit Music (Michigan State University Press, 2020). Cope also authored The Correspondence of David Cope and Allen Ginsberg (1976-1996) (Giant Steps Press, 2021). Recent translations by Claire Durrand-Gasselin of his later poems into French are forthcoming in Paris.
